WASHINGTON, DC — May 28, 2026 — The American Flood Coalition today recognized Representative Rob Bresnahan (PA) as a Federal Champion for his leadership, public service, and commitment to finding solutions to challenges posed by flooding.
“Northeastern Pennsylvania knows all too well what flooding can do to a community: damaged homes, destroyed infrastructure, and families left waiting on slow, complicated federal recovery,” said Congressman Bresnahan. “I’m proud to work with the American Flood Coalition as a Federal Champion on common-sense solutions to strengthen resilience and improve the federal disaster recovery system for families in Pennsylvania and across the country.”
Representative Bresnahan joins 54 bipartisan AFC Federal Champions, those members of Congress dedicated to combatting the effects of stronger storms and more frequent flooding. As the first Federal Champion from Pennsylvania, Rep. Bresnahan brings practical private sector experience helping communities respond, recover, and rebuild from floods in the Keystone State.
“We are thrilled to welcome Congressman Bresnahan as our first Federal Champion from Pennsylvania,” said Melissa Roberts, Executive Director of the American Flood Coalition. “From his efforts to protect federal resilience funding to advancing bipartisan FEMA reform, to shaping smarter, flood-resilient transportation policy as a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Rep. Bresnahan is already leading on shared priorities that will benefit flood-impacted communities in Pennsylvania and beyond.”
As a member of the House Transportation & Infrastructure, Small Business, and Agriculture committees, Rep. Bresnahan has key oversight of federal infrastructure, disaster mitigation, and rural development programs that shape how communities prepare for and recover from floods and other disasters.
