William J. Barlow

Former Mayor of Oswego, NY

William Barlow is the Former Mayor of the City of Oswego, New York. He was elected i 2015 as the youngest Mayor in Oswego history. Oswego is known as the Port City of Central New York and boasts a beautiful waterfront complemented by a maritime theme found throughout the city.

An Oswego native, Barlow prioritizes protecting the character of the city and building a business environment that will allow Oswego to thrive for decades to come. Barlow has overseen the City’s successful application and receipt of a grant through New York State’s Resiliency and Economic Development Initiative (REDI), a program built to support communities impacted by the 2019 Lake Ontario flooding. The City is using the funding to enhance resilience at Wright’s Landing Marina by elevating marina structures and incorporating floodwater retention basins.

Barlow is a third-generation small business owner in Oswego. He received his B.A. from Arizona State University.
