Todd Barton

Mayor of the City of Crawfordsville, Indiana

Mayor Todd Barton has served as Mayor of Crawfordsville since 2012 and is the first four-term mayor in the city’s nearly 200-year history. A lifelong resident of Crawfordsville and Montgomery County, he brings decades of public service experience to his role, including 26 years with the Crawfordsville Fire Department, where he served as firefighter, paramedic, EMS Director, Deputy Chief, and ultimately Fire Chief. Mayor Barton earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science from Wabash College, graduating cum laude while working full-time, attending school full-time, and raising a family.

As mayor, he has focused on restoring the city’s financial stability, strengthening infrastructure, modernizing economic development, and improving quality of life for residents. Under his leadership, Crawfordsville has launched several nationally and internationally recognized programs, including Mobile Integrated Health, Project Swaddle, Project Bundle, the Quick Response Team for addiction and mental health support, the Workforce Alliance, and the Montgomery County Early Childhood Coalition. He also hosts monthly community forums and the weekly Crawfordsville Connection podcast to maintain transparency and strengthen civic engagement.

Mayor Barton brings a strong commitment to community resilience, public health, and innovation; values that align closely with the American Flood Coalition’s mission. He and his wife, Jamie, a nurse practitioner, have three grown children.
