Terry Mann is the longtime mayor of Whiteville, North Carolina, where he has been elected and re-elected to lead the city in a largely nonpartisan capacity. Before becoming mayor, he served on the Whiteville City Council and was sworn in as mayor in 2009. During his tenure, he also has held leadership roles in regional municipal associations, including being elected to the North Carolina League of Municipalities board. As a second-generation local business owner in downtown Whiteville, Mann has long engaged in civic and community organizations, supporting education, infrastructure, and local development. Most recently, he and his family contributed to strengthening regional higher education by donating to community college foundations in his region.
