Sandy Golding

Vice Mayor, Jacksonville Beach, FL

Vice Mayor Sandy Golding has been serving on the City Council since 2018 and has been involved in advocacy efforts in Jacksonville Beach for two decades. As the Founder and President of the nonpartisan civic organization Beaches Watch, Sandy has made a positive difference in the Jacksonville Beach community through organizing community conversations and educating and engaging citizens in the issues that impact the quality of life at the beaches.

Councilmember Golding was raised in Huntsville, Alabama and attended Auburn University where she earned a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. She has over 15 years experience in Project Management, including experience leading international development projects for Motorola. For the last 15 years, she has also worked with local nonprofit organizations and is currently employed as a National Volunteer Specialist for the national animal welfare nonprofit Best Friends Animal Society. She has received numerous awards and recognitions: Florida League of Cities Home Rule Hero (two years), 2011 HandsOn Earth Award, 1000 Friends of Florida Community Steward Award, the Sierra Club Community Activism Award and Sandy has been honored as a Paul Harris Fellow.
