RISE is a non-profit organization with a mission to accelerate innovation and business growth around solutions to coastal communities’ resilience challenges.
RISE works with stakeholders across government, the private sector, and entrepreneurs to identify some of the biggest problems affecting coastal communities across the globe, and their own community in Hampton Roads, Virginia. From there, they design a Challenge: An innovation-fueled pitch competition that sources ideas from the brightest and most practical entrepreneurs and companies, designing physical, scalable solutions to specific resilience problems. RISE’s resilience experts support the ideation, refinement, and advancement of resilience solutions in the living laboratory of Coastal Virginia to help businesses build effective, efficient and financially sustainable solutions to resilience problems that can be applied to coastal communities across the globe.
