Rev. Dr. Clifford D. Barnett, Sr.

Rev. Dr. Clifford D. Barnett, Sr. serves on the Wilmington City Council, where he has championed issues of affordable housing, safe neighborhoods, and community resilience since his election in 2017. A longtime pastor and community leader, Dr. Barnett has built national and local partnerships to support children, families, and kinship caregivers, earning recognition from leaders including President George W. Bush and General Colin Powell. In Wilmington, he co-chairs the New Hanover County Community Resilience Task Force and serves on numerous boards advancing education, health, and youth mentorship. His deep commitment to service and resilience makes him a valuable partner in protecting vulnerable communities from flooding and climate impacts.
