Representative Randy Feenstra represents Iowa’s 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Mr. Feenstra holds a Master of Public Administration from Iowa State University and a Bachelor of Science from Dordt College. He began his career at the Foreign Candy Company in his hometown of Hull, before serving as city administrator for seven years. In 2006, he won his first election for Sioux County treasurer and held that position until 2008, when he won his bid to serve in the Iowa State Senate. Representing Sioux, O’Brien, and Cherokee counties for a decade, he also served as chairman of the Senate Ways and Means Committee.
In 2020, Mr. Feenstra was elected to represent Iowa’s 4th Congressional district, which spans northwest Iowa. He serves on the House Committees on Agriculture and Ways and Means.
In Congress, Rep. Feenstra has championed efforts to strengthen flood prevention measures and provide support for rural communities facing flood risk, including through his leadership of the bipartisan Flooding Prevention, Assessment, and Restoration Act. This legislation would streamline key USDA watershed programs, keep farmland in production, and help rural communities act before floods strike.
Feenstra also led the Storm Recovery and Community Restoration Act, which would provide financial flexibility to Iowan families and communities recovering from floods and tornadoes.
Mr. Feenstra and his wife, Lynette, have four children and live in Hull.
