Rep. Pat Harrigan

Pat Harrigan represents North Carolina’s 10th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Mr. Harrigan earned a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He served as an Army infantry officer before volunteering for Special Forces and earning the Green Beret, among other accolades for his leadership in combat. While on active duty, he and his wife Rocky co-founded a defense products company that grew into a manufacturing facility in Western North Carolina. He owned and operated the company before being elected to Congress in 2024.

In the 119th Congress, Representative Harrigan serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.

Since joining Congress, Rep. Harrigan has championed flood resilience and disaster recovery for North Carolina communities, which experienced catastrophic flooding and landslides when Hurricane Helene struck in September 2024. He joined a bipartisan coalition of North Carolina representatives urging the federal government to accelerate delivery of Helene relief funds to affected communities, participated in discussions with AFC’s Western North Carolina Recovery and Resilience Partnership on long-term flood resilience and federal disaster policy reform, and introduced bipartisan legislation that would strengthen FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program with an additional dedicated funding stream specifically for rural, Tribal, and U.S. Territorial communities.

Mr. Harrigan lives in Hickory, North Carolina, with his wife, Rocky, and their daughters, Reagan and McKinley.
