The Village of Palmetto Bay is a vibrant community of more than 24,000 residents who enjoy beautiful surroundings and a family-oriented atmosphere. Situated on the shores of Biscayne Bay, Palmetto Bay offers quick access to unique recreational opportunities and amazing bay vistas. Additionally, the Village is home to excellent public schools and it is also home to a wide range of exceptional private primary and secondary educational institutions.
Palmetto Bay is confident in its growing role as a first choice community for raising families and building businesses. With its unique blend of rural, old Florida charm, and a urban sophistication, this fast growing village has established an enviable balance between quality living and quality growth. That balance is carefully maintained through long-term planning and fiscal responsibility, community involvement, responsible leadership, respect for the environment, and strong public and private support for business development.
Incorporated in 2002, the Village of Palmetto Bay is the 33rd municipality in Miami-Dade County and reflects the best of South Florida’s past, present and future. The village is proactive in its efforts to combat rising sea levels and subsequent flooding, monitoring vulnerable septic systems and encouraging residents to stay informed about flood zones and flood protection. In February of 2019 the city held a meeting on sea level rise issues with Jim Cason, former Mayor of Coral Gables.
