Nancy Miller

Mayor of the City of Daytona Beach Shores, Florida

Nancy Miller was elected Mayor of Daytona Beach Shores in 2018 and re-elected without opposition in 2022, with her current term running through November 2026. During her tenure, the City opened Veterans Park and the Van Alder Dog Park, launched an Economic Development Committee, eliminated city debt—reducing property taxes—approved a settlement and redevelopment plan for the former Treasure Island resort, and recruited Halifax Health ExpressCare, the beachside’s only urgent care center.

A steady voice for practical resilience, Mayor Miller has championed stormwater and coastal preparedness and strengthened city–county coordination to speed recovery and keep residents informed. She currently serves as Chair of the Volusia County Roundtable of Elected Officials and on the Board of Directors for the Volusia League of Cities, where she is First Vice President and Advocacy Chair. She was recently elected President-Elect of the Florida League of Mayors and previously served on Florida League of Cities legislative policy committees (Land & Development; Municipal Administration). Her leadership has been recognized with the Volusia League of Cities’ 2021 Blaine O’Neal Award of Excellence and the 2023 Elected Official of the Year Award.

Mayor Miller attended Youngstown State University and Kennesaw State University (Professional in Human Resources certification). She retired from AT&T in 2018 after 43 years in management roles spanning HR, labor relations, project management, retail, and vendor management. A committed community connector, she hosts monthly “Coffee with the Mayor” to share updates, hear resident input, and highlight local partners—always focused on making “life better in the Shores.”
