Monica R. Martinez

Senator Monica R. Martinez represents New York State’s 4th Senate district and serves as Chair of the Senate Local Government Committee. Senator Martinez began her career in the classroom, using her experience as a teacher and school administrator to help her students reach their full potential. Guided by a desire to serve her neighbors, she began serving the public as a member of the Suffolk  County Legislature, and now is serving her third term representing Suffolk County in the New York State Senate.  In Albany, Senator Martinez works to improve the lives of New Yorkers by securing record funding for schools, increasing access to healthcare, and protecting the environment.
