Michael Mena is a commissioner with the City of Coral Gables. He is also an attorney at the MSP Recovery Law Firm where he focuses his practice on all aspects of litigation in federal and state court, with an emphasis on complex disputes.
Mena is a former member of Jackson Health System General Obligation Bond Citizens Advisory Committee and the Citizens’ Transportation Advisory Committee of the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Planning Organization. He serves on the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Miami-Dade County, 40 Under 40, Outstanding Lawyer Committee and is a member of the American Bar Association, The Florida Bar, Business Law and International Law Sections, Cuban American Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association, and Belen Jesuit Alumni Lawyers Association. He is an Ex-Officio Board Member of the Coral Gables Community Foundation.
Mena has been honored by Super Lawyers Magazine 2009-2019 and was listed in Florida as a “Rising Star” for Business Litigation, Civil Litigation Defense, and Securities Litigation, and was recognized as a “40 Under 40, Outstanding Lawyer of Miami-Dade County. He was also listed as the Florida Trend’s Legal Elite 2009, as an “Up and Coming” Lawyer. Mena earned his B.A. at the University of Miami and his J.D. at Columbia University School of Law.
