Alderman Matt Turner represents Ward 4 on the Harrisonville. Missouri Board of Aldermen since 2016. A lifelong Harrisonville resident, Turner earned his Certified and Advanced Certified Municipal Official designations from the Municipal Governance Institute. He has served on committees covering public works, public safety, and community development. Professionally, he is an industrial electrician with 27 years at General Motors’ Fairfax Assembly Plant. Turner is a recognized leader in municipal government at the state and national levels – He was elected President of the Missouri Municipal League at its 2023 annual conference and continues to serve on the Board of Directors as well as a policy committee. Nationally, Turner serves on the National League of Cities (NLC) Board of Directors and is a member of the NLC Small Cities Council and the Council on Youth, Education, and Families. He previously served on the NLC Public Safety and Crime Prevention Committee. He also serves as Vice-President/Treasurer of the Cass County League of Cities, working to strengthen collaboration among municipalities throughout the region.
