Mayor Marilyn Hatley is enjoying her fifth term as Mayor of North Myrtle Beach and serves as the current Chair for the South Carolina Beach Advocates . A graduate of Beaux Art College of Cosmetology, she is a certified cosmetology teacher, and for more than 45 years owned Visible Designs, Inc. Mayor Hatley attended the University of South Carolina. She also studied classical piano for 10 years, competing on local, statewide and national levels. Mayor Hatley serves as chairperson of the Horry County League of Cities, chairperson of the Coastal Alliance, and has served on the boards of directors of the Association of South Carolina Mayors and the Municipal Association of South Carolina. She is a charter member and vice chairperson of South Carolina Beach Advocates. Mayor Hatley has been actively involved for many years in community service through her work with the North Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club and numerous other charitable organizations. Mayor Hatley is a member of Risen Christ Lutheran Church. Married for 52 years to David Hatley, they have one son and one beautiful granddaughter, Amelia. Mayor Hatley’s hobbies include exercising, water aerobics, piano, and shopping with her granddaughter Amelia.
