Rodney Davis

Former Congressman, Illinois

Former Congressman Rodney Davis represents urban and rural communities across central and southwestern Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Before his election to Congress in 2012, Davis worked for U.S. Congressman John Shimkus for 16 years as Projects Director, where he helped Illinois communities navigate federal programs and secure funding.

Congressman Davis championed efforts to help communities prepare for disasters before they strike, including his leadership on the Resilience Revolving Loan Fund Act and the Safeguarding Tomorrow Through Ongoing Risk Mitigation (STORM) Act, which was signed into law in 2021. This law unlocks resources for states to provide low-interest loans to communities for projects intended to minimize the risks posed by disasters, including flooding and stocrm surge.

Rodney Davis proudly calls Taylorville home, where he lives with his wife, Shannon. He attended Millikin University in Decatur and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
