Sea level rise is an urgent issue that demands our complete attention. Our regional safety, quality of life, and economic prosperity depend on how we respond. I stand with the [coalition] as we work to unite coastal communities to unlock national solutions to sea level rise and recurrent flooding.
Lynwood Lewis is currently the State Senator for Virginia’s 6th District. He is also partner at Custis, Dix, Lewis & Custis, where he specializes in Real Estate, Traffic, Civil Litigation, Domestic Relations, Estate Administration, and Criminal Defense.
Lewis serves on the Committees of Agriculture, Conservation and Natural Resources, Local Government, and Education and Health. He serves as Co-Chair of the Tourism Caucus in the General Assembly and has been appointed to both the Joint Subcommittee to Formulate Recommendations to Address Recurrent Flooding and the Modeling and Simulation Advisory Council. Previously, he served on the Chesapeake Bay Commission, the Governor’s Aerospace Advisory Council, and was appointed to the Health Insurance Reform Commission.
Lewis was named 2013 Outstanding Citizen of the Year by the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce and Legislative Hero and Leader by the League of Conservation Voters, and he received the 2012 and 2013 Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s Distinguished Advocate for Virginia Business award.
Lewis received his B.A. in History and Political Science from Hampden-Sydney College, then obtained his J.D. from the University of Richmond.
