Representative Lee Hewitt is the state representative for South Carolina’s 108th Congressional district. He is also the owner of Garden City Realty and has served as President of the Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors and on the board of the state Association of Realtors. He is a Certified Residential Specialist, a Certified Professional Mediator, and a graduate of the Realtors Institute.
Prior to being elected to the House of Representatives, Hewitt served local government in many capacities: as Georgetown Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals Chairman, on the Georgetown County Comprehensive Land Use Plan Committee, Grand Strand Area Transportation Committee, and the Southern Evacuation Lifeline Road Task Force. In 2014, he was appointed by Gov. Nikki Haley and confirmed by the state Senate as the 7th Congressional District Representative to the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control Board of Directors.
Hewitt serves on the Agricultural, Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs Committee, Environmental Affairs Subcommittee; the Opioid Abuse Prevention Study Committee; and the Legislative Oversight Committee. He was named 2018 Legislator of the Year by the S.C. Association of Realtors, the first freshman legislator to ever win the award.
Hewitt received his B.S. in Business Administration from University of South Carolina-Coastal.
