Kevin Rader is a former State Senator for Florida, where he represented parts of Palm Beach. He also previously served three terms in the Florida House of Representatives, from 2008 to 2010 and again from 2012 until his election to the Senate in 2016.
A graduate of Boston University, Rader holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He is an insurance agent and owner of CKP Insurance, LLC. He was raised in Hollywood, Miami, and Orlando and currently resides in Delray Beach.
Rader served on the State Senate Governmental Oversight and Accountability (Vice Chair); Agriculture; Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services; Children, Families, and Elder Affairs; and the Joint Legislative Auditing Committee. Previously, he served as Vice Chair for the Okeechobee County Legislative Delegation (2008-2010) And was an Appointed Board Member for Florida Self-Insurers Guaranty Association (2006-2008).
Rader has received many awards for his service, including Legislator of the Year, Florida Beekeeping Association, 2015; Financial Services Council Award, Associated Industries of Florida, Champion of Business Awards Program, 2013; Outstanding Legislative Leadership Award, Florida Insurance Council, June 2013; Carolyn Huckshorn Legislator of the Year, Planned Parenthood of South Florida, Treasure Coast, 2009; and Legislator of the Year, Florida Farm Bureau.
