Tackling the existential challenge that sea level rise poses to South Florida should be the top priority for any member of Congress elected from this region. I stand with the Seawall Coalition as we work tirelessly together for real and sustainable national solutions to the many problems caused by sea level rise.
Ken Russell is currently Commissioner for the City of Miami, District 2. He is also an entrepreneur and international business executive, who has done business in over 40 countries and speaks four languages. Russell is also a former professional yo-yo player and kite surfing instructor.
Russell, a believer that citizen engagement in local politics is vital to the future of the country, has helped bring people together throughout South Florida on major issues of local concern and has become a leader in tackling sea level rise.
Russell received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a focus on International Marketing and a minor in Japanese.
