Jacksonville Beach is a coastal resort city in Duval County, Florida, United States. The city is part of a group of communities collectively referred to as the Jacksonville Beaches which includes Mayport, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, and Ponte Vedra Beach. Jacksonville Beach has a unique combination of history, leisure and recreational activities, including a famous fishing pier and water activities.
The City of Jacksonville Beach was awarded a grant through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to analyze the City’s vulnerability to sea-level rise, spring tides, and other flood-related events, evaluate options to reduce the vulnerability and increase resiliency to recover from flooding and prepare comprehensive plan amendments to set forth intervention strategies.
The city is committed to reducing the vulnerability of the people and property of Jacksonville Beach by implementing strategies to mitigate flood potential and increase resilience to flooding events.
