Elliott Summey is a former Charleston County Councilmember and Senior Vice President for Weber USA, where he leads the sustainable master planning effort for the Ingleside Plantation, located in North Charleston.
He served on the committees for Finance, Planning/Public Works, Economic Development (Chairman), Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA), Charleston Area Transportation Study (CHATS), Charleston Museum Board, and as Chairman of the Half-Cent Sales Tax Oversight committee. In addition, he is a member of the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments and serves on the Board of Directors for the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) and the Charleston Animal Society.
In 1999, Summey was appointed by then Governor Jim Hodges, to the South Carolina Board of Juvenile Parole where he represented the 1st Congressional District for a four year term. In 2002, Elliott served on the Economic Development Transition Team for newly elected Governor Mark Sanford. In 2009 he was named one of the Charleston Regional Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 for his accomplishments in both the business and civic sectors.
Summey received his B.A. in History from the College of Charleston.
