Mayor Donna Long was first elected to the office of Mayor in 2019. Calabash is notable for being both a town and a style of seafood. The town sits on the Calabash River, just a stone’s throw away from the fresh catches of the Atlantic. Her community is just north of Myrtle Beach and less than an hour south of Wilmington NC. Mayor Long manages the successful family-owned Captain Nance’s Calabash Seafood Restaurant. She lists preserving the unique character and history of Calabash amidst significant regional growth as a top priority.
