Cori Bylund

Mayor of Neptune Beach, FL

Mayor Cori Bylund was elected Mayor of Neptune Beach, Florida in November 2024, bringing over two decades of legal expertise and a deep commitment to her coastal community to the role.
A practicing attorney in Northeast Florida for more than 20 years, Mayor Bylund has built her career around family law, appeals, and mediation — work that demands careful listening, principled advocacy, and the ability to find common ground under pressure. Her peers have recognized her consistently, earning her a spot in Super Lawyers Magazine for over a decade.
Mayor Bylund holds a degree in Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay, with dual emphases in Public Policy Analysis and Public and Nonprofit Management, and a minor in Political Science. She earned her Juris Doctor in 2005. Her academic foundation in public administration and policy gives her a distinctive lens for navigating the governance and planning challenges facing a small, tight-knit barrier island community like Neptune Beach — including the coastal flooding and resilience pressures that define life along Florida’s First Coast.
Outside of her legal practice and mayoral duties, Cori and her husband Dan are rooted firmly in the Neptune Beach community they serve. Together they have three sons and one grandson, and enjoy gardening, beekeeping, and traveling.
