Clarice Faison

Mayor Pro Term of Fair Bluff, NC

Mayor Pro-Tem Clarice Vereen Faison is a community leader, entrepreneur, and public servant whose career has been shaped by a deep commitment to education, economic empowerment, and the resilience of Fair Bluff, North Carolina.
After six years in the textile industry, Clarice made the courageous decision to return to school as an adult learner, earning a degree in Early Childhood Education before going on to obtain a Master’s in Public Administration. That educational journey was more than a personal achievement — it became the foundation for everything that followed. Drawing on her training and passion for early childhood development, she founded Precious Minds Learn N Play Academy, a business rooted in her belief that strong communities begin with strong children.
Clarice has served on the Fair Bluff Town Council since February 2009 and currently holds the position of Mayor Pro-Tem — a tenure of over 15 years that reflects the trust her community has placed in her steady, service-driven leadership. Much of that service has been defined by crisis and recovery. Fair Bluff was flooded twice in the span of two years by Hurricanes Matthew and Florence, leaving lasting damage to homes, businesses, and infrastructure. Clarice has stood alongside the Mayor and Town Council in the long, difficult work of rebuilding — advocating for resources, coordinating recovery efforts, and refusing to let her community be left behind.
Her story is one of transformation — personal, professional, and civic — and a testament to what determined leadership looks like in the face of repeated adversity.
