The Cape Fear Resource Conservation & Development, Inc. (CFRCD) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving natural resources while supporting sound economic and community development in southeastern North Carolina. Through project funding and implementation, CFRCD partners with local governments and communities to improve quality of life across the region.

CFRCD has a strong track record of launching action-oriented projects that protect and balance natural and human resources while driving local economic opportunity. The organization has played an especially important role in recovery and resilience efforts following major disasters. After Hurricane Florence in 2018, which brought catastrophic flooding and widespread agricultural losses to the Cape Fear region, CFRCD worked alongside local partners to provide relief and help communities rebuild stronger.

Guided by its mission to empower local citizens to carry out action-oriented plans for environmental, economic, and social benefit, CFRCD continues to serve as a trusted convener and problem-solver across southeastern North Carolina. With deep roots in the community and a strong commitment to resilience, CFRCD is helping to create a more sustainable and thriving future for the region.
