Carol Jackson is a former member of the Charleston City Council, representing District 12, and a retired non-profit executive, having served the National Trust for Historic Preservation for over 15 years.
From her years with the National Trust for Historic Preservation to her work in church administration and neighborhood outreach, Jackson has spent her life preserving and protecting the things that make communities like Charleston special. She also spent 15 years of her career as Executive Director for non-profit affordable housing organizations, where she grew her passion and experience for community development.
Jackson currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Palmetto Community Land Trust, on the Revolving Loan Fund Committee for Historic Charleston Foundation, and as a Committee member of Lowcountry Local First. She has committed to using the full range of her skills and expertise to protect quality of life for members of the community she serves.
Jackson received her B.A. from the College of William and Mary.
