Aaron Whitely

Commissioner Aaron “Adot” Whitely serves as the District 6 Commissioner on the Chatham County Board of Commissioners, where he champions equitable development, expands access to opportunity, and ensures the voices of his constituents are heard at the county level. A dedicated father, entrepreneur, Army veteran, and community builder, Commissioner Whitely brings a rich and multifaceted background to public service.
An Army combat veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom (2011–2012), Whitely returned home with a commitment to service that has never wavered. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications and a Master of Public Administration from Savannah State University, and was inducted into Pi Alpha Alpha, the National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration — an honor that reflects both his academic excellence and his dedication to the principles of public service.
As an entrepreneur, Whitely co-founded The Madigan Firm alongside his wife, a business development consultancy supporting startups through organizing, launching, and sustaining successful ventures. Together they also founded Chunks Learning Center in Savannah — an innovative early childhood education institution focused on academic preparation, family support, and excellence.
His civic footprint is equally broad. Whitely is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 183, Prince Hall Masonry Mt. Moriah Lodge #15, and the Savannah NAACP. He has mentored youth through 100 Black Men of Savannah and the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club, coached youth athletics, and launched reading and tutoring initiatives. He also serves in leadership roles locally and nationally, including vice chair positions within the National Association of Counties.
