A resident of Surfside, FL for 18 years, Daniel Dietch is a community advocate, environmental scientist and enactor of positive change. After serving Surfside in several volunteer capacities, including Chairman of the Planning & Zoning and Design Review Boards, he ran for mayor and was elected in 2010. He served for five terms.
In addition to his time in elected office, Daniel Dietch is an environmental consultant, which has helped him to shape policies that benefit the Surfside community. He has more than 20 years of experience in solid waste planning, including work in MASDAR; Collier County, Florida; and Broward County, Florida and is widely published in solid waste planning.
He also serves on the boards of the Clean Energy Coastal Corridor and The CLEO Institute, and is a previous Board Member of Recycle Florida Today.
