Senator Greg Hembree is a dedicated public servant and attorney deeply committed to his community. Greg’s legal career includes serving as the 15th Circuit Solicitor from 1999 to 2012 and as the North Myrtle Beach City Attorney from 1995 to 1999. His commitment to justice earned him awards such as the South Carolina Law Enforcement Victim Advocates Solicitor of the Year Award in 2009. Beyond his legal work, Greg is actively engaged in community organizations like the Grand Strand Running Club and the Waccamaw American Leadership Forum. As the President of the Col. Lemuel Benton Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution and an elder at the Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church, Greg’s faith guides his dedication to service. Currently, he represents various South Carolina Senate Committees and serves as the Chairman of the Education Committee.
Senator Hembree earned his B.B.A. from the University of Memphis in 1982 and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina in 1985. Since December 1985, Greg has been married to Renee Robertson, and they have three children: Nora, Ellen, and John Isaac.
