Mayor Phillip Britt has served the Chadbourn community for over twenty years. Having worked over two decades with emergency services, Mayor Britt has in-depth knowledge of local government best practices, which includes budgeting, government contracts, project planning and follow-through. He was also directly involved in handling bid processes and was responsible for multiple supervisory roles. Mayor Britt ran to represent the people of Chadbourn because economic development is the most pressing issue. He believes the Town is in desperate need of a revitalization. Without new businesses, Chadbourn will not rise to its potential and he is working hard on focusing on grant searching and “cleaning up” the downtown area to beautify the community. The Town of Chadbourn is in the process of working with partners to complete a Master Downtown Plan, which will outline Chadbourn’s goals and make obtaining revitalization and development grants more attainable. Mayor Britt is excited about the future of Chadbourn and seeks to advance flood solutions with support from the American Flood Coalition.
