Tim Futrelle was elected Mayor of Boone in 2020. First coming to Boone 23 years ago as a student, Tim fell in love with the mountains and decided to stay. Tim ran for Mayor to help improve the housing issue in Boone. As a previous county commissioner for Watauga County, Tim aims to help improve the relationship between the Town and the County once again. During his time as Mayor, Tim also wants to focus on the Town’s sustainability goals, as well as preserving the unique neighborhoods which make Boone, Boone. Tim’s favorite thing about Boone is the community. From college students to locals and everyone in between, Mayor Futrelle believes the community in Boone will come together to help one another
