Senator, North Carolina Senate-24th District

Danny Earl Britt Jr. is a Republican member of the North Carolina Senate, representing the 24th district since 2017. He serves as a Lt. Colonel in the North Carolina Army National Guard. Senator Britt is the first Republican to have been elected to the seat, centered in Robeson County, home of the Lumbee Native American Tribe, since the Reconstruction Era. Senator Britt serves the Appropriations/Base Budget, Justice and Public Safety, Commerce and Insurance, Finance and Health Care committees. He is the Chair on the Judiciary and Transportation committees. Senator Britt gained statewide recognition for leading a significant, and bipartisan, Criminal Justice reform effort in NC. Mr. Britt also has been a disaster recovery leader on both the policy and volunteer service level. Senator Britt was born in Robeson County and operates his own law firm. He lives in Lumberton with his wife and two kids.
