Located in southeastern North Carolina in what is known as the Coastal Plains, Bladen County is an abundant county surrounded with natural recreation areas. Three rivers flow across the county, Cape Fear River being the largest. Fishing is an excellent activity to partake in throughout the county. White Lake attracts thousands of visitors annually. Bay Tree Lake is a growing private resort development. In addition, Jones and Singletary Lakes are state owned parks in which people can visit. The weather is great for outdoor recreation with nine months of moderate weather per year.

Bladen County’s agricultural sector and heritage has led to strong work ethic and high productivity amongst its 40 existing industries. Bladen County is very fortunate to have diversity of industries offering employment opportunities in food processing, manufacturing and assembly, textiles, chemicals and agri-business. Due to its location in the Coastal Plains, Bladen County is also impacted by riverine and flash flooding.
