Dr. Perrin Jones is a former Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, whom served House District 9, Pitt County. He is a practicing anesthesiologist, husband and father of three. As a longtime resident of Greenville, he focused on various issues impacting growing eastern North Carolina communities.
Dr. Jones served in the US Navy Reserves from 2000-2008 and is actively engaged in numerous community organizations. Pursuant to Gubernatorial appointment, he assumed office in the North Carolina House of Representatives on October 1, 2019.
Crafting sustainable and effective healthcare policy has been at the core of Dr. Jones’ initial legislative efforts in the General Assembly. However, his policy interests have expanded to include community resiliency and recovery in the wake of several devastating coastal storms and prolonged rebuilding efforts.
His legislative committee assignments included Appropriations, Appropriations- Health and Human Services, Aging, Education- Universities, Health, and Insurance. Dr. Jones’ also served on the House Select Committees on COVID-19 and Community Relations, Law Enforcement and Justice.
