Mike Sottile is a former State Representative for South Carolina’s 112th District, where he represented Charleston County in office since 2009. His district included both Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island, as well as the majority of Mt. Pleasant. Sottile served on the Committee of Ways and Means.
Sottile worked as an independent insurance agent for many years, before retiring in 2015. Before being elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives, Sottile served in other public offices, first as a Councilman for the City of Isle of Palms and then as the Mayor of Isle of Palms from 2001 to 2008. He attended the Baptist College of Charleston and served in the U.S. Air Force.
