Maggie Ullman was elected to the Asheville City Council in 2022 and has quickly established herself as a leader on issues of sustainability, equity, and community well-being. She currently chairs the Environment & Safety Committee and also serves on the Policy, Finance & Human Resources Committee where she helps guide key decisions shaping Asheville’s future.
Council Member Ullman is deeply engaged in advancing local priorities through her service as a liaison to multiple boards and commissions, including the Civil Service Board, Metropolitan Planning Organization, Historic Resources Commission, Multimodal Transportation Commission, Sustainability Advisory Committee, Urban Forestry Commission, and the Citizen Police Advisory Committee. Her leadership reflects a commitment to building a resilient, inclusive Asheville: one that prioritizes environmental stewardship, community safety, and equitable access to opportunity.
